By day I’m Director of Operations for CYM Ipswich, and by night I’m a photography, nature enthusiast and Lego lover among other things.

I’ve been involved in Suffolk Christian Camps in one way or another for over 25 years. Beginning as a camper with my family at family camp I have moved through each of the camps, becoming part of the team on both Junior Camp and Summer Madness, joining the committee in my early twenties. I love being a part of an organisation striving to create an opportunity and atmosphere for people to meet with Jesus, whether that be for the first or umpteenth time.

Camp has been a major part of my faith journey for many years, it has helped form who I am as a person and has facilitated some lifelong friendships. I am really excited to be a part of the next chapter as the chairman of the trustees and to continue the vision of camp.

I attend C3 Church in Bury and head up the hospitality team. I have been the  camp secretary and treasurer for over 16 years and have seen many campers come to junior camp and go on to be tent leaders, workers and now leaders of our camps. I am a Teaching assistant at my local primary school and in my spare time enjoy crafts of all sorts.

Hi! I am the the son of Paul and Carol Golding who used to run boys camp before Phil and Jan.I have been part of Suffolk Christian Camps from birth! I have been at camp every year since I was born from leaders son to camper at boys camp and onto tent leader and then to helper on setup and take down days and now onto the camp committee! You could say it’s in my blood!

I live locally and along with my wife and 3 children attend Connections Church in Saxmundham. My Dad and Mum both attended camp as did my sister and I and now also all 3 of our children are enjoying “camp” as we all did! Generations having fun, making friends and listening to what God has to say!! Life changing experience? For so many over the years it’s definitely a yes!

My name is Adrian Blofield but most people call me Blo. I live in Bury St Edmunds and have two daughters, Amy and Hannah. I work as a pest control technician catching all those pesky critters.

I was brought up in Bradfield St George where I am part of the Gospel Hall Church. I started going when I was just 5 years old and have been going ever since, that’s nearly 60 years, and for 30 years I have been running the children’s club on a Wednesday night.

I have been involved in Suffolk Christian Camps for over 40 years, starting off as a camper and ending up as a worker for Junior Camp week 2, doing all the jobs no one else wants to do such as sorting the rubbish bins.

Over the years I have seen young people’s lives changed through camp and also seen many of those return as workers to give back in gratitude. Sizewell Camp will always hold a special place in my heart. A very special place!

Martin has been attending family camp for 19 years and with wife Clare been helping to run Family Camp behind Andy & Miriam Jelfs for about 12 years, many of those also on the Camps Committee.

I know it is 19 years because Clare persuaded me against my better judgement (what do I know) to come Camping at Sizewell when Simone, our eldest daughter, was only 7 months old.  People told us we were mad bringing a baby to family camp but it has become common-place. Charlie our son came when only 3 months old – possibly a record?  Both bathed in (the old) kitchen sink!  Both have gone on to Junior Camp and Summer Madness with Simone helping also. Clare and I have greatly enjoyed helping Andy & Miriam and are handing on this role with mixed emotions.

Sizewell Camps are a very special time in our year, in a very inspiring & refreshing place – camping next to heaven?  The feeling of being in the right place still hits me every year when I go through the wall-gate and see the sea horizon from the top of the cliff.  What a picture God paints.
Martin has been a member at Greenfinch Church, Ipswich for over 25 years.

Roger and Sally led Junior camp from 2009-2022. Previous to that they were workers at camp for 12 years. Sally was even a camper when she was young! They have 2 children, Oliver and Annie, both of them have been through Junior Camp. Roger is a retired Police Officer and now works for Billericay Baptist Church as the Pastoral Assistant providing support and care to the congregation and beyond. Sally is a fully qualified teacher and currently works for Schools Ministry Billericay, a Christian Charity supporting the town’s schools.

Matt Levett is an avid admirer of all things comic book – especially WonderWoman. He loves films; loves good food; loves surfing (but is really quite bad at it !) and loves open water swimming – the colder the better. He plays Risk – a lot, and he has a mysterious interest in cryptozoology and actually attends the Eurovision Song contest every year ?! In his spare time he helps run a charity for street kids in Latin America and gets out there whenever he can.

Oh yeah … and the more important bit. He works for the Anglican church here in Suffolk as their Youth & Young Adults adviser. He has been involved in Church ministry all his working life and believes that the local Church really is the hope for the world. He loves teaching theology to the ‘non-religious’ he’s really passionate about young people, culture & mission and thinks that living for Jesus is a good thing.

What does he bring to the Suffolk Christian Camps ? Years of youth ministry experience, years of helping to lead and speak at Summer Madness and a love for Sizewell Hall and campsite and all it does for the Kingdom of God.

We are really excited to have taken over the leadership of Junior Camp. Jenny has previously been a worker at camp for 14 years and Matt for 18 years.

Sizewell is a special place for both of us, with Matt becoming a Christian as a 10 year old at camp and Jenny getting baptised in the sea there. We have 2 lovely (and lively) boys, Ezra and Josiah, who also love camp and can’t wait to be old enough to be official campers! We both work in primary schools, share a love of music and are involved in a variety of ways at our church.

We both absolutely love working with young people – seeing them laugh, play, care for each other, overcome challenges, grow and learn. This is why Junior Camp is so special to us. We have so many special memories of young people encountering God and growing in their understanding of and love for Him whilst also having a load of fun with old and new friends.

Hello, my name’s Rachel, I’m a 27-year-old working in public relations and I’m currently based in Australia. I have many passions in life, but my true loves are God, good coffee and any opportunity to be creative.

I’ve attended Suffolk Christian Camps for as long as I can remember, forming my closest friendships there and even meeting my husband at Junior camp (no it wasn’t quite a cromance… but it was pretty close).

My faith and Summer Madness are pretty intertwined, with my faith becoming solidified whilst attending as a teen. My love for Jesus has always played a huge role in my life, pushing me to be brave, to make wise decisions and always find the fun side of life.

Suffolk Christian Camps have played a huge role in my life growing up. I’ve attended both Junior Camp and Summer Madness, in some capacity, almost every year; from a toddler wandering around, to a camper and now leading. They were always a highlight of my year and that remains the same now. I love the relationships I have from my times here and the ones I see developing each time I’m there.

Getting alongside young people and helping them find and follow Jesus is a passion of mine and I love watching their faith grow. I want to try and show people the difference Jesus can make in their life. Most Sundays I help out with Motion, the youth group at my church The Forge. I love the way young people’s minds work and ask questions that often I haven’t even thought about, meaning that not only does their faith grow, but mine as well!

I’m a sport fanatic, willing to give anything a go, be it watching or playing. Most of my weekends involve sport in one form or another, which my lovely wife Eliza loves (NOT)! Cricket, football, watching the Green Bay Packers, golf with friends or tennis with Eliza quickly eat up my spare time.

Shaun and Livi Almond settled in the UK around 7 years ago now, feeling called to work with youth and university aged students.

Livi, being a Suffolk native, grew up attending camps and conferences at Sizewell Hall and has relished the opportunity in helping run the family camps as she has so many fond memories of them from her childhood. Shaun on the other had, having grown up in California, has only recently been introduced to Sizewell but has fallen in love with the ethos of the camps and what they mean for all who attend.

They have two children together in Kaleia, 15 and Hezekia, 14 that have grown up at the camps and love being involved in every aspect of Sizewell.

We are so excited and looking forward to fun family times and making memories that will last forever with you!

Andy & Rachel are based in Maldon, Essex where they are leaders at Fullbridge Church and work with Counties UK supporting local churches in evangelism.

They have been involved with Family Camp 2 for nearly 10 years and look forward to coming back each year to build on friendships made at camp in previous years as well as welcoming new families. It is the relaxed family atmosphere and fantastic setting of Sizewell that attracted them and still draws them back each summer, alongside the time and space to explore who Jesus is and how He still makes a difference in lives today in this amazing place.

Family Camp is an amazing mix of families coming from across east Anglia and in all shapes and sizes. None of this keeps us from developing lasting friendships that last much longer than our week together!

Ruth and Tony have 3 children;  all three have now left school, Kate and Ali are both at Uni and Ben is now in College. Ruth and Tony have a passion to share the good news and truth of Jesus. We do this through our work in the schools where we introduce Jesus to the children and then follow that up with the Holiday Clubs and youth groups in the local churches. We also have invitations from churches to run the children’s sessions at church weekends away.

We are both part of High Street Chapel, Hopton, who support us in our outreach work as we seek to follow up the schools program we have working with the children and, just as importantly, with their parents. We enjoy all types of outdoor sports and activities alongside the usual football, golf and circuit training, like walking, hiking and rock climbing, in fact anything that delivers a challenge.
